Leh is a city in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is the capital of the district of Leh and has about 100,000 people living there today. The surrounding region is spectacularly beautiful with high mountains and deep valleys that are full of lakes and rivers. There are also many smaller villages in this area which make for some lovely hikes (and picnics).
It is not just the weather that makes Leh foreign embassies and consulates interesting, but also the people who live there. The city has a culture all its own and it’s one of my favorite places to visit.
