Manipal is an exciting city with a rich culture and history. It's home to many festivals, events, and cultural activities that are sure to delight everyone who visits. In this post, we'll take a look at some of the most popular festivals in Manipal that you should make time for during your stay here:
Revels is Manipal's annual cultural festival and it's a must-attend event for students and locals alike. The three-day event includes dancing, singing, music and drama performances by local performers. It's also the only time in which you can get to see all five of our institutes' art forms on one campus!
The Manipal Marathon is a popular event that attracts runners from all over the country. It has been held annually since 2000 and is organized by the Manipal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI). The race starts and finishes at the MCCI headquarters in Manipal, which was formerly known as “The City of Palaces” due to its architectural splendor.
The marathon course consists of two loops around town, one loop starting on Airport Road and ending at Laxmi Narayan Temple, while another loop starts at Laxmi Narayan Temple and ends at Hospital Road. There are six categories: Elite Female; Elite Male; Elite Open (men & women); Masters Female; Masters Male
The Manipal International Literature and Arts Platform (MILAP) is a celebration of literature, art, and culture from around the world.
The festival will be held from September 24-29.
The Manipal International Short Film Festival showcases the best short films from around the world. It is an annual event held in Manipal, Karnataka and attracts filmmakers, actors, directors and film enthusiasts from across India. This year's edition will be held on December 6th to 10th at Bhavan’s Auditorium & Convention Centre & Hotel Surya Palace Mall.
The Manipal International Cartoon and Animation Festival is a fun-filled event for animation enthusiasts. It has been organized by the Faculty of Arts & Science since 2000 and has become one of the most prominent festivals in India. The festival showcases various types of animation films from around the world, which includes animated shorts, feature films and documentaries.
The festival offers opportunities for students to showcase their skills through short film screenings at various venues across town such as college auditoriums as well as theatres within Manipal city limits or even out-of-town locations like Mangalore City or Mysore City (if you want to see more than just local talent).

The Manipal International Street Food Festival is a food lover's paradise, featuring a wide variety of street food from around the world.
The event will take place on September 20th, 2019 at Matunga College ground in Mumbai. The festival promises to be an exciting experience for everyone who loves good food!
The Manipal International Yoga Festival is a great opportunity to learn about and practice yoga with experts from around the world.

The Manipal International Music Festival is a must-attend event for music lovers, featuring performances by local and international artists.
The festival is held every year in April at the Manipal University campus. It features several concerts, including the main concert which features plenty of popular artists from India as well as other countries.
The Manipal International Film Festival showcases the best films from around the world, including feature films, documentaries and short films.
The festival runs for five days and features a lot of activities like workshops and panel discussions by film-makers.
The Manipal International Science and Technology Festival is a great opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in science and technology. This event will showcase the best innovations from around the world, including India, China and Europe.
The festival will feature talks by scientists on topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, nanotechnology and space research. There are also workshops where you can learn how to make your own robot or create an app for your smartphone!
The Manipal International Photography Festival is a celebration of photography, featuring exhibitions, workshops and talks by renowned photographers. It takes place at the campus of Manipal Academy of Fine Arts (MAFA), located in Manipal, Karnataka.
The festival was first held in 2006 and has since grown to become one of the largest photography festivals in India with more than 100 exhibitions across multiple venues throughout India.
The Manipal International Art Festival is a celebration of art, featuring exhibitions, workshops, and talks by renowned artists. This year's festival will open on March 23rd and run through April 28th.
The event takes place annually in March and has been held since 2004 at St. John’s Church (St John's Road), which was originally built in 1842 as a chapel for the Church Mission Society (CMS).
It was designed by Thomas Wilkins who also designed St Mary's Church in Poona Street with its octagonal tower which became known as “the city church” because it could be seen from far away due to its height!
The Manipal International Fashion Festival is a must-attend event for fashion enthusiasts, featuring fashion shows, exhibitions, and talks by renowned designers. The festival showcases the best of Indian and international fashion trends with participation of local designers as well as international ones.

The Manipal International Culinary Festival is a celebration of food and cooking, featuring cooking demonstrations, workshops, and talks by renowned chefs. This year’s event will be held from March 22-25 in the city’s Prashanthi Nilayam campus.
The festival aims to promote healthy eating habits by showcasing the best dishes from across the world that you can enjoy at home or on your travels. The festival also includes competitions for amateur chefs as well as professional ones; seminars on various topics related to food culture; live performances by some of India’s leading singers; a wine tasting session with international wines; shopping for local products like spices or jams made locally at home (handmade chutneys); among other activities!
