The Tabo region is a cultural center of Himachal Pradesh. It has many important monasteries and temples, which are considered to be the popular attractions of this region. The Tabo Summer Festival is one such festival that celebrates the culture and traditions of the people living here by highlighting their customs, traditions, dance forms and costumes.   

Introduction to Tabo and its Cultural Significance   

Tabo is a small town in the Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of 3,600 feet above sea level and lies at the foot of Garhwal Himalayas. The town was named after Saint Tiruwanakatheswara Swamy who lived here during 17th century AD. Tabo has been known for its monasteries, temples and festivals for centuries now.   

Tabo also has apple orchards which were planted by British officers who visited this area during colonial period to provide food for their troops stationed here during World War I (1914-1918). Although it's not as famous as Kashmir Valley or other hill stations in India - it does have some interesting things to offer visitors if they decide to visit!   

Tabo Monastery: An Iconic Attraction in Tabo   

If you're looking to get away from the city and relax, Tabo Monastery is definitely worth a visit. It's situated in a village called Tabo, which is about 90 kilometers from Gangtok and can be easily reached by bus or Near Railway Stations in Tabo. The monastery itself was established by Lama Sangye Gyatso in 1683 and has been serving as an important seat of religious learning since then.   

The Karmapa lineage began here at this monastery when Lama Zopa Rinpoche came to live there after being chosen by His Holiness Gendun Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche as his successor. Since then, many other Lamas have followed suit—including His Holiness Dilgo Khyenpa (1715-1751), who wrote about how he spent his time at this site during his travels around India and Tibet; Yungtrul Nyima Dondrup Pelzangpo (1879-1935); Jetsun Pema Rgyalpo (1933-1972), who became head lama after Jetsun passed away; Jamyang Samten Gyatso (1971-) who continues serving today with great dedication   

Tabo Summer Festival: A Celebration of Culture and Tradition    

The festival will be held at the same time each year – in August. It's open to all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.   

The event includes traditional music performances from local artists who play instruments such as gongs and drums; dance performances; art workshops for children; traditional foods cooked on open fires (e.g., hulajambang); games such as "hongkong puteh" (a game similar to cornhole) played with coconuts instead of disks thrown against an upright board; plus lots more fun activities!

Activities and games for children: There are many activities and games available for children of all ages. These include skating, skating rinks, ice skating lessons and more.   

Activities and games for adults: Adults can enjoy a variety of activities at the Winter Festival including ice hockey tournaments, snowball fights, snowman building contests and much more. If you'd like to take part but don't want to play in the cold weather then there will also be plenty of activities on offer indoors too including indoor archery shooting range (with targets), live sports events such as darts or table tennis tournaments etcetera.   

Tabo Winter Festival: A Festive Season of Colors and Lights  

The village of Tabo, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, is known for its colorful festivals. The first ever Tabo Winter Festival was held in December 2018 and it has been one of the most popular cultural events ever since then. This year's event will be held from December 1 to 5, 2019 (Friday-Monday). Taam Dabang - This is a type of drumming that uses two drums called dab and dap to create beats with various rhythms like fast or slow tempo depending on what mood you want your audience to get into when listening to it!   

Chinese gong - This instrument was originally brought over from China during colonial times by European missionaries who had worked there for years prior to coming back home (where it became popular among locals). It has been used since then as part-time job for many different types people including artists who play only during special occasions like weddings; however today many young children learn this skill because they think it looks cool too!   

Local food and drinks stalls   

The food stalls are located at the main entrance of the festival, which is open from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.

The Tabo Spiti Winter Carnival: A Fusion of Art, Culture and Adventure is held in December. The festival is held at the heart of Spiti Valley and features dance performances by local musicians, art exhibitions and cultural events.   

The Tabo Spiti Winter Carnival began with an idea to bring together the community through music, dance, art and culture. It aims to unite people from different backgrounds under one banner so they can come together as one community while celebrating their diversity through this event that brings together artists from all around India.   

Art and handicrafts exhibition and sale    

Art and handicrafts exhibition and sale is a popular event. The event provides an opportunity to buy artworks at affordable prices.   

The artworks can be bought from different artists who have come together for this purpose, including local artists as well as foreigners who live in the town or Hotels in Tabo.   

Music and dance performances   

Tabo is renowned for its music and dance performances, both local and international. The city's vibrant cultural scene will keep you entertained all weekend long.   

The Tabo Festival is held annually in July and offers a wide range of events including music concerts, cooking competition, fashion shows and more. This year’s festival will be held from July 16th to 18th (Friday to Sunday).

Lineup of international and local musicians performing at the festival   

The festival is expected to feature local and international musicians. Some of the international acts include:   

Alvin Asello, who will be performing with his band at Rizal Park on Sunday, August 19th. He has been playing for 20 years now and has played in several bands including Reggae Revival Band, Silverglades & more recently The Ultimate Seduction Trio which he formed with some friends from Manila's music scene. He also used to act as an ambassador for ABS-CBN's Pinoy Big Brother reality show where he was known as "PBB" Alvin Asello while competing with housemates including Julia Montes, Kyle Echarri & Vhong Navarro among others!   

Tabo Horse Riding and Polo Festival: An Exciting Sporting Event   

The Horse Riding and Polo Festival is an exciting sporting event. It is held every year in June, and it offers a variety of activities for participants. For example, there are horse riding competitions, polo matches, archery tournaments and more. The festival also offers food stalls which serve traditional Japanese food such as sushi or tempura (deep-fried batter). The cost of tickets varies according to the event you wish to attend but they generally range from $8-12 per person depending on what time you want to go! This means that if you have friends coming along with you then buying tickets will be cheaper than booking separate accommodation somewhere else in town - which could cost hundreds per night! You might even get free entry into some events because they're not sold separately (like at other festivals).

The most popular is the Horse Races which are held every year at around this time of year (1st week of September). The Tabo Festival will also have a number of food and drink stalls, local art and handicrafts, music and Fast Food Restaurants in Tabo. There will be vendors selling traditional Korean dishes such as bulgogi (marinated beef), bibimbap (rice mixed with vegetables), or kimchi jjigae (a spicy homemade stew).   

There are also various cultural performances that you can enjoy at the festival. You can watch traditional Korean dances like Samul nori or Hwarang dance performance by professional dancers from South Korea or even participate in it yourself if you're up for learning some new moves!

The Tabo Winter Carnival has a long history and is one of the most popular festivals in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
