Wonderful Places to Visit in Patna

Patna is one of the oldest cities in India. It has been ruled by many empires and dynasties including the Mauryas, Kushanas and Guptas. The city was also a center for education and culture during the Buddhist era. Today, Patna has many beautiful historical sites and monuments like Patliputra University Museum, Nalanda Museum etc. Here are some of them:

Patna Sahib Gurudwara

Patna Sahib Gurudwara is a gurudwara. It is located in Patna, Bihar state of India and it is one of the most popular destinations for tourists. The temple has been built by Baba Ram Singhji, who was known as “Baba Sahib” to the locals. The temple attracts people from all over India because it houses several shrines dedicated to different deities including Sita Mata Ji, Radha Krishna and Ganesh Ji among others. The architecture of this place makes it look like an ancient ruin but still maintains its beauty despite having been renovated many times since its construction over 200 years ago when Queen Victoria ruled over British India (1901–1910).

Kumhrar

Located in the Patna Sahib Gurudwara complex, Kumhrar is a Maha Kumbh Mela site and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple was built by Raja Kumhar Singh of Patna in 1565 AD; it is dedicated to Lord Shiva and contains several sculptures from that period. The main deity of this temple is Lord Shiva as Nataraja (the Dancing God) surrounded by his consort Parvati, Ganesha and yakshas (demons).

The temple has many decorative pillars that depict images of gods and goddesses such as Brahma Vishnu Lakshmi Narayan Narayana etc., which date back to 14th century CE when Mughals ruled over India.

Takht Sri Patna Sahib

Takht Sri Patna Sahib (Vedic) is a place of worship for the Sikhs. Located in the heart of Patna, it was built by Guru Teg Bahadur and inaugurated on November 14th, 1664 AD by Guru Gobind Singh. This holy shrine is visited by thousands of people every year who come to pay homage to this saintly figure who sacrificed his life for upholding truth and righteousness.

Agam Kuan

Agam Kuan is located in Patna, Bihar on the banks of river Ganges. It is a hilltop temple complex dedicated to the Guru Granth Sahib, which houses a large number of gurdwaras (Sikh temples). It has many beautiful views and it's also an excellent place to visit during your trip to Patna!

Buddha Smriti Park

Buddha Smriti Park is a park in Patna, India, dedicated to Buddha. It is located near Gandhi Maidan and the Patna Museum. The park was named after Buddha Smriti, which means "the wisdom of Buddha".

The park has been built on land that was once used by an ashram called Jogbani Ashram as well as a Buddhist monastery called Sankaracharya Dharma Samiti where there were many caves housing idols of various deities like Hanuman, Shiva and Ganesh etc., but today only few remains are visible here because the area has been converted into a recreational area for children

Padri Ki Haveli

Patna is a city with a rich history. One of the most important and beautiful buildings in Patna is Padri Ki Haveli, which was built in 1701. It was declared to be a UNESCO world heritage site in 2004, making it one of the oldest surviving buildings in India.

The magnificent building has been used as an office by different groups since its inception and has been renovated several times throughout its history. It now serves as an art gallery where you can see paintings created by artists from all over India who have visited Patna for exhibitions at this historic site!

Padri Ki Haveli is also known as “Om Vihar” after Raja Om Prakash Singh (1739-1809) who built it as part of his palace complex near Shastri Park area on Ganges Road today known as Gandhi Maidan Road near famous Taj Mahal Hotel where people gather every day during religious festivals such as Holi Festival when people decorate each other using colors like pink powder etc., etc..

Jalan Museum

Jalan Museum is a museum in Patna, India. It was established in 1957 by the Government of Bihar.

It is located on the campus of Patna University.

Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library

The Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library, Patna is a non-profit organization that has been running for more than 130 years. It was established by Sir Charles Wood in 1873 and has two branches: one in Patna and another one in Delhi. This library is also called "The British Library" as it has many books written by British authors such as Shakespeare, Dickens or Voltaire.

The library holds thousands of rare manuscripts including copies of Braille books which are very difficult to read without seeing them first hand so they can be appreciated properly while reading them on your own computer screen at home!

Patna Museu is a museum in Patna, India. It is located in the heart of the city and it can be accessed from all parts of Patna through its main entrance on Faizabad Road or by walking through any one of its many entrances that lead you towards different parts of this historic city.

The museum was established in 1960 as part of efforts by various people who believed that there should be some sort of legacy left behind for future generations so they decided to create something which would serve as an inspiration for everyone who visits here today. The name itself suggests what kind of legacy we want our children’s generation (and those after them) to inherit – ‘museum’!

Gandhi Maidan

Gandhi Maidan is an important place in Patna. It is a public park and it hosts a number of activities like cultural events, music concerts, sports competitions etc. The main attraction of Gandhi Maidan is its history as well as its architecture.

Gandhi Maidan was established by Jawaharlal Nehru during his visit to Bihar in 1925 when he inaugurated five-year plan for Bihar state with the help of Mahatma Gandhi. After Independence from British Raj this place was named after Mahatma Gandhi who had chosen it as place where he would give speeches about his ideas about nonviolence movement and freedom struggle against British rule in India

Nalanda University

Nalanda University is a public university in Bihar, India. It was established in 1198 by the Gupta emperor, Samudragupta, during the reign of Harsha Vardhana. The university was named after the ancient city of Nalanda near Rajgir that was its main campus. The university has many schools and institutes like School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSSH), Visweswaraya College for Women (VWC), School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals Research Institute (SPRI).

Funtasia Water Park

Funtasia Water Park is a water park located in Patna, Bihar, India. It was opened in 2013 and is owned by the state government of Bihar. The park offers various activities for visitors like swimming, boating and much more.

Golghar

Golghar is a historical monument in Patna, Bihar. It was built during the reign of Ashoka (276–232 BCE) and is one of the oldest surviving structures in India.

Golghar is located near Gandhi Maidan, about 20 kilometers from Patna city center. It can be reached by taking a shared autorickshaw or taxi from there or by walking through some busy roads that lead to this place.. The structure itself has been well preserved since its creation and visitors are allowed to enter inside its walls freely without any restrictions on photography or other activities like climbing up ladders to reach higher parts of it (though not recommended).

Golghar was declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 because it represents an important part of history when Buddhism spread across Asia during ancient times; however today many people come here just because they want to explore more about this beautiful structure!

Patna Planetarium

Patna Planetarium is a museum and planetarium located in Patna, the capital of Bihar, India. It was built by the Haryana government as a gift to its sister state. The planetarium opened on 1 January 1972 at a cost of $1 million (Rs 4.5 crore). It has been renovated twice since then and has undergone many changes to suit changing times.

The planetarium shows various types of astronomical objects such as the Solar System, Planets, Stars and Galaxies etc., through its very own telescopes which can be operated by visitors themselves with no prior training required.
