Wonderful Places to Visit in Tezpur

Tezpur, a beautiful city in Assam, is a tourist destination and also a gateway to the Northeast. There are several places of interest in Tezpur that can be visited by tourists. You can explore them by yourself or with your family members.

Agnigarh Hill

Agnigarh Hill is a hill in the state of Assam. It is the highest peak in the state of Assam, at 3,715 feet (1,158 meters) above mean sea level. The hill was named after Agnigarh Fort that stands on top of it. The fort was established by Ahom king Jai Singh II in 1761 to protect his kingdom against invaders from Bengal and Tripura who came through Western Bengal as well as Chittagong port area.

The fortification walls were built around 1683 AD with three gates: one for entering from Dibrugarh district; another for exiting into Kokrajhar district; and third gate for entering into Lower Dibrugarh region from inside upper portion itself which contains some other palaces too like Swargadeo Palace etcetera...

Kalia Bhomora Bridge

Kalia Bhomora Bridge, located in the heart of town, is one of the oldest bridges in Tezpur. It was built by the British after the Second World War and was declared as one of India's heritage sites. The bridge has a beautiful view of the river below and is popular among tourists who want to take photos with it as well as couples who want to get married here during their visit.

Bamuni Hills

The Bamuni Hills are a group of hills in the Tezpur district of Assam. The hills are located in the south-eastern part of the state. They were home to many temples, including the famous Bamuni Temple, which was built during British rule and is still used today as a place for worship.

The closest airport to these mountains is at Kokrajhar Airport which can be reached by car or bus from Guwahati Airport (GGJ). From there you can hire car or taxi services to tour around this area with ease! You'll want some time out here as it offers some fantastic sights and some interesting history too!

Mahabhairab Temple

If you're looking for a place to visit in Tezpur, look no further than the Mahabhairab Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in the town of Tezpur. It's one of the most important temples in Assam, and it has been here since ancient times. The Bhairabi Temple Complex houses many other temples as well, including those dedicated to other gods such as Brahma and Vishnu (the latter being my favorite!).

Cole Park

Cole Park is a public Garden and parks in Tezpur, Assam, India. It is located in the heart of the city and has a large play area for children. It is also a good place for picnic or just spending time with family and friends while enjoying nature around you!

Nameri National Park

Nameri National Park is a national park in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is located in the lower reaches of the Brahmaputra River and is home to a diversity of flora and fauna.

The park covers an area that includes forested hills with steep slopes, rivers, lakes and marshes. The park protects all kinds of animals such as elephants, rhinoceroses (including one white rhino), tigers, leopards etc..

The main attraction here are lambis who live along the banks of Tezpur river ferry terminal on its way southwards towards Rangia town which has many Tezpur hotels for tourists visiting this area during festivals like Durga Puja or Lohri festival at Nameri checkpoint near Sadiya Bridge from where you can see both sides of river Brahmaputra flowing through this part called “Lipa” meaning "river" in Assamese language!

Da Parbatia

Da Parbatia is a hill station in the state of Assam, India. It is located at an elevation of 1,176 m above sea level and has beautiful views of the surrounding area. In addition to being a tourist destination itself, it is also famous for its trekking trails that lead to different parts of Assam including Agnigarh Hills (a trekking destination).

Da Parbatia means "The Hill". This area was once used as grazing ground by animals such as elephants and deer but now tourists can visit this place to see them up close! There are several temples located here too such as Bhairabi Temple which was built around 1300 AD by king Bhairab Kundan Goswami Maharaj; Lepchas are original inhabitants of Assam who migrated from Tibet centuries ago; Diasporas from other parts such as Tripura are also present here along with their descendants who speak Hindi/Bengali language fluently

Chitralekha Udyan

Chitralekha Udyan is a park in Tezpur, Assam. It is located in the heart of the city and is a popular place for recreation. The park also serves as an important tourist attraction due to its scenic beauty and historical background. The park has some very beautiful places to visit in Tezpur, Assam:

Lake – This lake covers an area of 8 km2 and has been created by building embankments around it to prevent floods from affecting people living nearby. It offers opportunities for boating, fishing and swimming during summers while providing shelter from harsh winds during winters

Bhalukpong

Bhalukpong is a village in Tezpur district of Assam. It is located at a distance of 18 km from the district headquarters, Tezpur. It is also known as Bhalukpong Poraghat.

How to get there: From Tezpur one can take the ATM Road to reach it. Driving directions: The nearest airport which offers flights from New Delhi (Dedicate) and Kolkata (Shaheed Gopinath Pratap Singh International Airport) is located at Guwahati which lies at a distance of around 145 kilometers away from this place; another major airport nearby is Silchar Airport situated at 64 kilometers away from Bhairabi Temple Bhairabi Temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temple in Assam.[1]

Orang National Park

Orang National Park is a protected area located in the state of West Bengal. The park is spread across an area of over 4,200 sq km and covers parts of Bokaro district, Ranchi division and Purulia district. It has been declared as a tiger reserve in 2004 by the government to protect tigers from poachers and illegal forest dwellers who hunt them for their body parts such as skin, bones etc..

The park has several trees with unique species like sal tree (Shorea robusta), neem (Azadirachta indica) mango (Mangifera indica), peepal (Ficus religiosa) jackfruit tree(Artocarpus integer) etc., which are native to India. More than 200 species of birds have been identified in this sanctuary including hornbills, kingfishers, rollers etc., apart from many other animals like elephants and rhinos too!

Kalia Bhomora Setu Park

Kalia Bhomora Setu Park is a beautiful park in Tezpur. It is located near the Kalia Bhomora Bridge, which was built in 1867. The park has many monuments and statues that are worth seeing, but it's also great for spending time with your family because there are a lot of activities to do here such as cycling or playing games on swings.

The history of this park goes back many years ago when it was used as farmland for farmers and cattle herders who lived nearby during that time period until recently when they decided to make it into an open space where people could enjoy themselves any time they wanted without worrying about being hit by cars while driving down main roads (which happens every day). This new policy became effective after World War II ended because there were plenty of jobs available since everyone needed something done around town so they didn't have much choice but hire someone else instead! Nowadays most farmers still live in their homes nearby but others prefer living closer towards town where there are more opportunities available within reach."

Bhairabi Temple

Bhairabi Temple is a Hindu temple in Tezpur, Assam, India. It is located in the village of Bhairabi in the Tezpur district. The temple was built by King Surajit Singha around 1150 CE or earlier and underwent several renovations since then.[1]

The main deity of this temple is Lord Shiva with his consort Parvati and their son Ganesha.[2] Other deities include Ganesha, Vishnu (Lakshmi), Surya (the Sun God), Indra (the Rain God) Ganeshji etc.

Tezpur is a wonderful place to visit. It has many things to offer travelers and it's very easy to get around in this city. The best part about traveling here is that there are many options for activities that you can do while visiting such as hiking or exploring other parts of India as well as some neighboring countries like Nepal, China or Burma (Myanmar).
