Madurai Kamakshi Amman Temple Fair is a religious fair held in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The fair is held in the last week of April every year. The temple authorities organise this annual event to commemorate the victory over Ravana by Lord Rama's army during his exile from Ayodhya (now known as Vaikuntha) on Earth for 14 years after he killed demon king Mahabali who had usurped his father's throne.

The Temple of the Tooth Relic, also known as Siva temple and Ayyappa temple, is located in the town of Kodaikanal. It is dedicated to Lord Siva and has been an important religious site since ancient times. The temple was built by Marudevi, who was a married woman from Kodaikanal and lived during the time period when Sri Ramanuja started his mission for Vedic religion.[1]

The main deity here is Lord Siva with his consort Parvati on either side.[2] There are also other deities such as Ganesh, Kartikeya (Murugan), Subramanya Swamy and Raghava Raja.[3]

The fair is held at the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. It starts on the full moon day of Vaikasi month and lasts for 15 days. This year it will be celebrated from April 25 to May 9.

The Agastya Siva Temple

The Agastya Siva Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the town of Kumbakonam, which is famous for its temple architecture.

The temple was built during the reign of Raja Raja Chola (985-1018 CE) and it has been renovated several times since then. The present structure dates back to 14th century AD when it was rebuilt by a king named Kulasekara Pandian Vaikuntaperumal who ruled over Tamil Nadu from 1310 - 1316 AC or CE. This king built new walls around this ancient structure so that no one could enter without permission from him or his family members who lived there at that time

On the last day of the festival, there is a grand procession at 8 in the morning which starts with the traditional ‘Kudimaram’ dance by women from various villages and ends at 10 with a colorful folk dance called ‘Thaai Koothu’The main deity of the temple is Lord Siva, who is depicted in the form of Lingam. There are also other deities such as Ganesh, Kartikeya (Murugan), Subramanya Swamy and Raghava Raja.[4] The temple has an inner sanctum sanctorum where there is a silver-plated idol of Lord Ayyappa in standing posture with his two hands holding a bow and arrow.[5.
