Vizianagaram is the capital of Vizianagaram district and located in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It was once called as Rajahmundry and was founded by a king named Viswakarma Maharaja.
The city has a rich history dating back to 1st Century BC when it was known as Pundravardhana which translates to “the land of perfumed waters” because it was surrounded by rivers on all sides. The city grew rapidly during this period due to its location along one major trade route between South East Asia and North India (now known as Ganga).
It later became an important trading center for spices during medieval times before being overtaken by Chennai after Srirangam Temple construction started around 12th Century AD

Vizianagaram is a beautiful city and it has many things to see and do. Here are some of the reasons why this city should be on your list of places to visit in India:
The climate here is very pleasant. You can enjoy hot summers and cool winters without having to deal with any extreme weather conditions like hurricanes or tornadoes!

Vizagam Fort is a fort built by the British during their rule in Vizianagaram. The fort has been converted into a museum now and houses an array of artifacts from different eras as well as paintings depicting scenes from history.
Sri Rama Temple is a Hindu temple located in the city of Vizianagaram. It was constructed during 15th century CE by Raja Raja Chola I (1218-1258 CE) who wanted to build this place for his wife Vijayalakshmi Devi who later became called as ‘Vijaya Lakshmi’ after becoming pregnant with him when she visited this place on way back from pilgrimage trip around Bhadrachalam-Kondapalli route (Madurai).
The Thatipudi Reservoir is a beautiful place to visit. It has a large lake and an island where you can enjoy your time by swimming or just relaxing.
The Kondakarla Ava Beach is another place that you should visit while in Vizianagaram. There are many hotels around this beach, but it’s nice just to walk around and look at different types of houses built into the rocks on either side of the beach itself (which were once used as protective walls).
Bojjana Konda is another popular place to go when traveling through Vizianagaram District; it has some great views over waterfalls from the top of its hillsides! This area was built up during British rule when they needed more land for farming purposes so they turned their attention towards Bojjana Konda Hills instead – which resulted in some pretty impressive results!
The city has several cultural places to visit like the Maharaja Alak Narayan Society of Arts and Science Museum which houses a collection of ancient manuscripts, paintings and sculptures from various parts of India. It also has an art gallery where you can see beautiful paintings by famous artists like Raja Ravi Varma (a major painter in nineteenth century) as well as modern artists like Venkatraman Sreeramulu who painted some wonderful pictures on canvas. The second place that should be on your list is Pydithalli Ammavari Temple which has become one of the most visited tourist attractions during festivals like Navratri when people throng here from far away places just because they want to see this temple which was built by kings who ruled this area centuries ago.
Vizianagaram has a rich history, and its cuisine reflects this. Local dishes are made with ingredients from the local environment, such as rice, spices and vegetables. The traditional food is a mixture of traditional and modern tastes that have been influenced by many things including religion, culture, geography and economics.
The most popular local dish is called Wada Bhaat (rice cooked in tamarind) which is usually served with dal-bhat or kurla bhakri (a kind of flat steamed bread). Other popular dishes include pappadam cooked with green chilies; rasam (a soup); vada pav (fried vegetable fritters); thoran prepared with mustard seeds; sambar made from lentils; idli very similar to dosai but served without coconut milk; uttapam made from wheat flour dough fried until crisp on both sides

Ava Beach is a beach that has been named after the town of Avvaiyar, which means "beautiful". It is located on the coast of Vizianagaram and it was established in 1801 during British rule by Sir Henry Ward and Sir William Eden who were also responsible for building other towns such as Kondapalli and Parlakimedu (both in Andhra Pradesh). The beach offers views of beautiful landscapes especially at sunset when you will see clouds moving across your eyes like fairy wings coming down from heaven above! This is one thing I loved about this place because it reminded me so much about how beautiful nature can be even though we live surrounded by skyscrapers here in New York City... or maybe not?
