Enjoy a picnic with family and friends at scenic spots like the Tapola Lake or the Koyna Backwaters.

How to go about a picnic:

What to bring:

A blanket or mat. You can buy these at any shop and they are usually very cheap. You can also bring your own if you want, but it's better not to as it might get dirty during the picnic. (When we went on one in Karnataka earlier this year, I was surprised by how many people had their own blankets!)

Food for everyone (you'll probably get hungry). Make sure that there is plenty of water available too!

The best time of day for a picnic is after lunch or dinner when most people will have finished eating and are ready for something outdoorsy so that means around 4pm if possible - but before sunset because then it gets dark quickly here so don't leave until 8pm cough cough cough cough cough cough cough! * How long should we stay out here? This depends on how many people attend each outing - we'd recommend between 2-4 hours depending on how much walking/swimming etc needs doing each day...but always remember our guidebook says 'no more than three' so make sure everyone knows what they're doing before setting off yourself...don't forget those drinks too!
