The annual Strawberry Festival is one of the most anticipated events in Mahabaleshwar. This festival celebrates the strawberry season and offers a wide range of activities such as strawberry picking, jam making, and culinary competitions.
The festival features special food stalls that offer traditional Maharashtrian delicacies like dahi vadi (sweet yogurt soup), gajar ka halwa (vegetable curry) and khandvi (a savory savory pancake). Visitors can also try their hands at making juices or jams using local fruits like strawberries during this time.

The Diwali festival is celebrated throughout India, and Mahabaleshwar is no exception. During this festival, the town is lit up with thousands of lights and candles, and people exchange gifts and sweets with one another.
The celebration begins on October 17th when the sun sets at 3pm; it lasts for five days during which there are many events taking place:
On October 18th there will be fireworks displays all over town;
On October 19th there will be a parade through the streets led by colorful floats made from wood or paper that depict traditional Indian characters;
On October 20th there will be religious processions through various neighborhoods including the “Diwali Puja” (worship) at Basadi Peth where Hindus worship idols representing God Ganesh who represents wisdom & knowledge;
The Holi Festival, also known as the Festival of Colors, is celebrated in Mahabaleshwar with great enthusiasm. During this festival, people play with colored powders and water, and enjoy traditional sweets and delicacies.
Christmas Celebrations: Mahabaleshwar is a popular tourist destination during the Christmas season. The town is decorated with lights and decorations, and various cultural events and performances take place throughout the holiday season.
Christmas is a time when people around the world celebrate their beliefs with family gatherings, religious services and parties at home or in public places like Mahabaleshwar restaurants or Mahabaleshwar Shopping malls. In India it has become quite popular to organize dinner parties on Christmas Eve (December 24), where friends gather together for dinner before going to church on Christmas morning (December 25). Some families also exchange gifts on this day as well!
New Year's Eve is celebrated with great fervor in Mahabaleshwar. The town's restaurants, bars, and clubs host parties and events, and fireworks light up the sky at midnight.
In addition to being a favorite holiday for locals, this holiday is also known as "Madhubani Mela" (meaning "Maha's festival"). This festival celebrates the birth of Lord Maha Vishnu on January 14th every year.
Ganesh Chaturthi is the most important festival in Maharashtra, and it's celebrated with great enthusiasm by people. During this festival, people worship Lord Ganesha and enjoy traditional sweets and delicacies.
Ganesh Chaturthi falls on the fourth day of Ashad Sudharmoni (October/November).
The Navratri festival is a celebration of the Hindu goddess Durga, and is celebrated in Mahabaleshwar with great fervor. During this festival, people perform traditional dances and enjoy a variety of local delicacies.
The most popular dance during this time is known as Leela Chants (literally "Dance for Lord"). It consists of rhythmic chanting and waving of swords by men who are dressed up as goddesses; women also participate in this performance.
The Mahashivratri festival is a celebration of Lord Shiva, and is celebrated in Mahabaleshwar with great devotion. During this festival, people fast, worship Lord Shiva, and perform traditional dances.
The main event of the festival is the procession through the streets of town on Sankashti Ekadashi day (the eleventh day after shukla paksh). Thousands of participants take part in these processions which start from Shiva temple at around midnight.
Republic Day Celebrations: India's Republic Day is celebrated on January 26th, and Mahabaleshwar is no exception. During this day, the town hosts parades and cultural events, and people come together to celebrate the country's independence.
Mumbaigiri Mela: This festival takes place in December every year at Mahabaleshwar's Mount Abu where people from all over India gather to enjoy games like tug of war and volleyball along with folk dances performed by local villagers.

During this festival, people can participate in a variety of outdoor activities such as trekking, rock climbing, and ziplining. The events take place at various locations around the city including:
Ganesh Tower - This tower was built by Lord Krishna's brother Ganga who wanted to build it so that he could be closer to his elder brother when they were children
Sanjay Lake - This lake has been named after Lord Krishna’s son who comes here every year on his birthday (Janmashtami)
Shambhavi Temple - It is located near Varkari Temples where devotees worship goddess Durga during Navratri celebrations
Mahabaleshwar Film Festival: The Mahabaleshwar Film Festival is a celebration of cinema, and is held annually in the town. During this festival, you can view films from around the world that were shot in or around Mahabaleshwar.
The festival was first held in 1996 and has been hosted by various production companies since then. It has grown to become one of India's largest film festivals with over 100 film screenings each year.
