Ajanta Caves are located in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India. They are one of the most famous caves in India and have been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. These caves have been beautifully carved out from rock over several centuries by Buddhist monks who belonged to the Ajanta School (also known as Vajrayana). These monks also built many monasteries around these caves which can be visited today; all three sites together form an important part of Buddhist art that dates back over 1,000 years ago!
Ajanta Caves consist of two large grottos with more than 30 smaller ones inside them, along with frescoes depicting scenes from daily life before they were buried under centuries' worth of sedimentary layers during floods that washed away earlier versions before rebuilding took place later down through history (and even now). They're so well-preserved because they've been protected by heavy rainfall during every monsoon season while being exposed during other seasons when there's less water at ground level; this means you can see how people lived here without having any visit inside yourself!

The temple was built by Rani Vidyavati Bhonsle and her husband Raja Shahu II between 1730–1740 CE (A.D.). The design of this shrine has been inspired by Vaishnavism and Jainism styles, with some influences from Islamic architecture as well being present here too.[2] Architectural features include:
A large courtyard surrounded by two-storeyed walls;
A central dome housing images of elephants on their hind legs facing each other;
The four sides have projecting balconies with decorative pillars topped off with finials at their front ends that resemble lotus flowers;
Possible explanations for these features include:
That this style was derived from those seen at Ajanta Caves nearby where pagoda structures were common[3], or maybe even earlier examples found elsewhere within Asia Minor such as Bactria which had similar architectural elements incorporated into them.[4]
