Kumbh Mela at Uttar Pradesh

The Kumbh Mela is a religious festival held once in 12 years at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The Kumbh Mela is considered to be the largest religious gathering in the world and takes place during the full moon of Phalguna (February/March). This ancient ritual bathing ceremony has been performed since ancient times by Hindus to not only cleanse themselves from sin but also to seek blessings from various deities, including Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Mahashivarathi Aavudai Festival at Tirunelveli

The Mahashivarathi Aavudai Festival is a major festival in the month of October and it is held at Mahavishnu Temple. This festival was started by Lord Shiva himself. It is believed that Lord Shiva appeared on this day to bless his devotees with prosperity and fame. The annual event celebrates this occasion by offering prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, who are considered as protectors of peace and harmony in society.

Karthika Thiruvizha at Tirunelveli

Karthika Thiruvizha is a Hindu festival celebrated in Tirunelveli. It is celebrated on the full moon day of the Tamil month of Karthika and takes place at the temple of Lord Thirumangai Azhwar, who is also known as Kadambavanathar or Kadal Kaman (the god with four hands). This temple was built by Muthuvallur Veeran Pallavarayan Raja around 400 years ago and it's one of the oldest temples in Madurai district. The festival marks the victory over demon king Mahabali by Lord Vishnu after he killed him with his Sudarshana Chakra (Discus).

Ganesh Chaturthi at Srirangam and Tirunelveli

Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival that is celebrated in the month of August. It is celebrated in the Srirangam temple in Tirunelveli and in the Sri Ranganathaswamy temple in Srirangam.

The devotees celebrate it with great enthusiasm, singing songs, dancing and performing devotional activities such as visiting temples or participating in processions to worship Lord Ganesha on this day.

1st International Cultural Festival - Kaveri Jayanthi

The 1st International Cultural Festival - Kaveri Jayanthi will be held from 22nd to 27th January 2019 at Kochi, Kerala. The festival was started by Shri. Prakash Babu and has been organised since 2005.

The dates of this year's festival are:

22nd January (Sunday) | 23rd January (Monday) | 24th January (Tuesday) | 25th January (Wednesday) | 26th January (Thursday).

The events include cultural dance programmes, workshops on various subjects related to classical arts like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi etc., seminars on environmental issues among others..

11th Christian Conference - 9th Syro Malabar Church Youth Assembly

The 11th Christian Conference will be held from 9th to 12th January 2019 at St. Paul's English School, Cannanore. The conference is a great opportunity for the Church youth to come together and share their experiences of ministry, leadership and discipleship. This year's theme is 'Reaching the Nations’ which emphasizes on reaching out our lost ones through various media like radio, television etc., so that they can know about Christ & His Church through these channels.

21st Tulu Bhagavathar Pooja - St. Mary's Free Hospital, Meenachil

The festival is held at St. Mary's Free Hospital, Meenachil and celebrates the Tulu culture. The festival is a cultural event that involves music performances by renowned artists from all over India as well as other countries like Iran and Malaysia who have been invited to perform here during this time of celebration for Lord Krishna's birthday on Janmashtami (Aug/Sept).

Bonalu is a festival of the Hindus. It is celebrated in the month of April and it falls on the day after Maha Shivaratri (Hindu festival). Bonalu celebrates the victory of Lord Krishna over Kansa, king of Mathura. The festival includes various cultural activities like street plays, dances and other sports competitions. It also has religious rituals such as feeding Brahmins with milk from cows’ udders or giving them money as charity so that they perform their duties well for people who come to see them perform dances at temples dedicated to these deities during this occasion

Pooram

Pooram is a major festival in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is celebrated on the fourth day after Makaram (the first month of the Tamil calendar).

It is believed that Pooram, also known as Poombai or Poombarai, began when Ganesha, one of the Hindu gods and his consort Parvathi were married to each other. They lived happily together until one day they decided to visit their parents who lived far away from them. Before leaving they told their parents that they would return after three days but unfortunately due to some reasons they could not reach back before then so they left without telling anyone where they had gone off too!

The next day after this incident poorams started taking place every year at their village near Kumbakonam which was named as Aduthurai because it was located near an ancient temple dedicated for Lord Shiva called Aduthurai Murugan Temple which housed several idols made out from black granite stones with intricate designs carved inside them along with sculptures depicting scenes from Ramayana like Hanuman meeting Sita during her exile etc…

Puducherry International Boat Racing Festival

The Puducherry International Boat Racing Festival (PIBRF) is a boat racing competition held in Puducherry, India. The festival is held in the month of February every year.

The festival was started in 1995 with the aim to promote cultural heritage through Drama performances.
