Salem is a great place to live. It's beautiful, has plenty of things to do and the people are friendly. However there are some restaurants in Salem that more than make up for its lack of fancy restaurants. These places serve delicious food at affordable prices and we want to share them with you!
The first place we want to share is Larry’s Grapevine. This little diner is located in South Salem and offers some of the best comfort food around. They have everything from breakfast sandwiches to burgers, but our favorite thing on their menu is the poached egg sandwich.
You're looking for an affordable restaurant that serves delicious food, right? Well, you've come to the right place. Here are some tips on how to find and choose a great meal:
Look for places that offer a variety of options. If you're on a budget but still want something delicious, look for Salem Restaurants with multiple items on the menu that can be ordered as separate meals or combined into one dish (like salad and soup).
Avoid ordering things like salads or sandwiches—they tend not to cost much but often contain less than desirable ingredients. Instead try something like chicken tacos al carbon with rice and beans for under $10!
Drink water instead if possible; it's free at most places so why not? If nothing else try asking them if they have free refills before deciding whether or not this will work out well financially in terms of quality versus price point."
If you're looking for a good place to eat on a budget, Salem is the place to go. These restaurants offer delicious food at reasonable prices and have proven themselves as some of the best cheap eats in the city.

Salem's Best Restaurants for High-End Cuisine on a Budget
[The Wharf Restaurant] - Located on the waterfront, The Wharf offers an array of delicious dishes and views of the city skyline. They offer a variety of seafood options as well as more traditional American fare like burgers, salads, and pasta dishes. Their menu changes with the seasons so there's always something new to try!
[Amore Italian Bistro] - With locations across Massachusetts including Salem and Fitchburg you're sure to find one near you! Amore Italian Bistro serves up authentic Italian food dressed up in modern flare—and we mean it when we say "dressed up." Try their fresh pastas made from scratch daily along side any number of delicious sauces or dressings (think pesto). You'll love this place for its ambiance as well as the scrumptious food!
[Fire & Ice] - You won't find a better place for steak or seafood in the area. Their menu offers a wide array of options but you can't go wrong with anything on it! If steak isn't your thing, don't worry—there's plenty of other choices including chicken, pasta, and even burgers if you're feeling adventurous!
If you're a vegetarian, vegan or simply looking for a place where the food is good and cheap, Salem has many options. Here are some of our favorites:
The Caveman Café: This family-owned restaurant serves up inexpensive fare with plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free diners alike. There's even an entire section dedicated to gluten free items on their menu!
Oat Groove Café: Located just north of downtown Salem in one of its most popular neighborhoods (the same neighborhood where we live), this café offers great coffee along with delicious sandwiches and salads made with organic ingredients only found at local farms or farmers markets.*
Salem is a small town, so there aren't many options for dining out. The best way to find cheap food is by going to the restaurant you know and love (or hate). Your best bet will be in downtown Salem; if you're looking for something more casual, head over to one of the many independent coffee shops around town. But if none of these options sound appealing and are too far away from where you live or work, then maybe it's time for a change—and we've got just what your wallet needs!
Salem is home to a number of fast food chains that offer cheap eats. We've rounded up some of the best places to grab a quick bite on a budget.

Qdoba Mexican Grill - After discovering this chain restaurant while traveling with Salem Travel agencies abroad during college years (yes we ate there once), I was hooked on Qdoba's burritos and quesadillas until now when I am able to enjoy them again after moving back home from New York City where there wasn't one close by so had my fair share during those times away from home too!
