Tinsukia Film Festival is a film festival held in Tinsukia, Assam. It is one of the most popular festivals in the state of Assam and has been running since 2004. The festival showcases some great movies from around India, as well as some international films that are screened by local filmmakers and other people involved with this event.
The Tinsukia Film Festival has been sponsored by many organizations over the years including Arundhati Roy’s Arts Council India (ACAI) and Satyajit Ray’s Film Society Delhi Foundation (FSD). It was originally started by ACAI but then they decided to give an award called ‘Satyajit Ray Award For Best Debut Director’ which was also funded by FSD at first because they wanted to give more recognition towards new directors who had made their debut with feature length films rather than short ones like shorts or documentaries which were easier for them financially speaking since it didn't cost anything extra for them; however after about four years later when things started becoming slow again due lack interest from filmmakers outside India who wanted nothing more than publicity rather than actually making good movies themselves so therefore ACAI decided once again not only stop sponsoring but also remove all mention about any kind off recognition whatsoever within their website itself instead just leave space where people could say whatever comments without getting banned due censorship policies set forth by various companies such as Google etcetera...
The Elephant Festival is a cultural festival of Tinsukia. It takes place every year in the month of November to commemorate the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. The festival is organized by the Tinsukia Tourism Promotion Council with support from Assam State Sports Council, Bihu Festival Committee and Adventure Sports Festival Committee. It is one among many festivals which are celebrated in Tinsukia city where elephants are being used as part of its culture and tradition.
Hornbill Festival is a festival of the Hornbill tribe which is held in the month of March. It lasts for about 3 days and celebrates with different cultural events like painting, dancing and singing by groups from different parts of Assam.
