Sringeri is a town and headquarters of the Sringeri Taluk in Chikkballapur District in the state of Karnataka, India. It is located on the banks of River Tunga, which flows through the town along with its tributary Kaveri River. The name "Sringeri" means "blessed land". The Vidyashankara Temple is located in the heart of Sringeri, and it is one of the oldest temples in Karnataka. The best time to visit Agumbe is during the summer, when the weather is pleasant and there is not much rain. The best time to visit Sringeri is at anytime between December and March. If you're traveling by car or bus, it takes about two hours from Sringeri to reach Agumbe by highway.
If you're planning on arriving in Agumbe by train or plane, then it takes about an hour from Hubli Airport (HBL) or Bengaluru International Airport (BLR).
