Thrissur is one of the most beautiful cities in Kerala, with its rich culture and heritage. The city has many tourist destinations that can be visited by both locals and visitors alike. Vadakkunnathan Temple

Vadakkunnathan Temple is a beautiful example of Kerala architecture. The temple is located in the heart of Thrissur city, and it's dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The main attraction here is the unique roof structure that has been built over the main ground level, with three stories featuring statues on each floor. This gives you an amazing view from above as well as below!

The temple has been around since ancient times; it was originally built by King Cheraman Perumal (also known as Rama), who ruled from 888-895 CE. There's also another legend surrounding this place: during World War II when there were many bombs being dropped on cities like Delhi and Bombay (now Mumbai), one bomb landed right outside this temple and destroyed much of its outer walls but didn’t harm any structures inside because they were made out of sandstone blocks instead of brickwork which would have made them easily crumble upon impact!

Scenic Peechi-Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary

The sanctuary is located in the southern part of Thrissur district, and it is a beautiful forested area. This sanctuary is home to many different species of birds including hornbills (belonging to the genus Bucorvus), trogons (family Trogonidae), bulbuls (family Pycnonotidae) and others such as kingfishers (Alcedinidae) and bee-eaters(Meropidae).

Sholayar Dam

Sholayar Dam is a dam across the Periyar River in the Western Ghats of Kerala, India.

It is located between Poonthura and Chettuvankara villages in Thrissur district.

Visiting this dam is a great way to get to know Kerala better, and also see some beautiful sights along the way! The view from the top of this dam is breathtakingly beautiful, so if you're looking for something new to do in your free time then I highly recommend checking it out! How To Reach There: From Thiruvananthapuram city (Trivandrum), drive towards Palakkad via Vatakara and Kottayam cities (around 2 hours). Once you reach Palakkad town continue driving until you reach Sholayar Dam checkpoint on NH-47 (about 30 km away). You can also hire an auto rickshaw or taxi service from here if they are available at any given time during travel season(April 1st - September 30th).
